EP06 Breeding corals in resisting climate change
"First on air 10 April 2021"

Covid-19 pandemic has slowed down human activities all over the world. Then effects of climate change should have been mitigated. However, evidence shows just the opposite. World Meteorological Organization has confirmed that the year 2020 was one of the warmest years on record, and it will get warmer and warmer. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suchana Chavanich, a marine biologist at Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University shares with us her first-hand, extraordinary experience of exploration and diving in the frigid waters in both the north and south poles, and explains to us what she witnessed there as evidence of global warming. She and her team also develop a technique to breed corals that are immune to climate change in trying to preserve these precious assets of our ocean.
