Matthew Ball, a prominent venture capitalist whose essays on metaverse are widely recognized by technology giants and entrepreneurs, defines metaverse as a network of real-time, interconnected 3D virtual worlds, in which an unlimited number of people can experience simultaneously and seamlessly. In this network, each person would have his or her own sense of presence, along with continuity of relevant data such as identity, history, entitlements, objects, communications, and financial transactions. In metaverse, people would interact with each other and lead their virtual lives using avatars which they get to design on their own. In education, metaverse is believed to take online learning experience to a more immersive level. For example, one could be present in a virtual classroom for a course offered by a university in the United States or United Kingdom, while still physically sitting in a room in Thailand or other countries. Discussing the issues of metaverse are Dr. Non Arkaraprasertkul, an expert in metaverse at Digital Economy Promotion Agency, a government agency in Thailand, and Dr. Patrachart Komolkiti, director of Learning Innovation Center at Chulalongkorn University.
